This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I love teaching 20 curious bilingual kindergarten students. They are full of life, love and happiness! My students come to school so eager to learn. Our school is a Title I school, contains grades pre-k through 5th, and all of our students are eligible to participate in the free lunch program. Many of my students do not have any paper, pencils nor books in their homes. The majority of my students have not been read to or have not been allowed to write or draw on paper before starting school. Therefore, they are lacking many pre-literacy experiences.

My Project

My students need to learn writing skills through appropriate modeling and practice. I am requesting a Ladybug Projector, pencils, and crayons for my classroom so we can model and practice writing appropriately in the classroom. The Ladybug , pencils and crayons will help my students develop their fine motor skills as we write together as group. The Ladybug Projector will also allow my students to show their peers their writing and hard work. The pencils and crayons will give the students instrument s to write with. A donation to this project will bring us the supplies we need to start off our new school year with a good foundation of literacy skills.
