My Students

As a teacher at a Title I school, my students are mostly from low-income homes. My students are very happy and eager to learn. They come from many different backgrounds and communities. Although they are all different, they all get along. We come together to learn and help each other succeed every day.

We serve 644 students pre-k through fifth grade and over 60 percent of them come from a low-income household, but they still come to school happy.

They love to learn new things in new ways. They are proud of all they accomplish and love to show off their work.

My Project

TIME magazine is both educational and fun. TIME supports education with interesting, yet educational, articles. It also has activities for students to complete, which helps with comprehension. TIME magazine integrates subjects as well through reading.

TIME helps teachers build daily connections with the world within their lessons.

Through TIME, I can teach informative text and have assessments at hand. There's also online tools that students can use during small groups. This magazine connects students to what is going on in the real world. I believe TIME magazine can do amazing things for children and help to integrate real world issues into our reading block.
