This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would like to ask for donation of iPads to my 6 students with Autism. Technology in general, can have a profound impact in students learning journey specifically children with Autism as it allows them an additional tools needed for communication, learning, and personal growth. Technology, especially iPads, offers a range of accessible apps and features that can support different learning styles and disabilities. These iPads will be used as a part of our lessons and curriculums but also as reinforcers to keep students motivated and engaged during their school days. Teaching students with Autism has taught me that collaborations with speech therapists is key when it comes to the development of my students, as many of my students are non-verbal or have other communication difficulties in which they will benefit from specific apps. This is why I will continue to collaborate with speech therapists currently in my school to ensure that these iPads and apps on are chosen to maximize their effectiveness. Lastly, as our school currently focuses on literacy, therefore, iPads can add an extra tool when it comes to maximizing the use of technology to help my students in learning to read, write, and their overall cognitive development.
