My Project
Student with sensory differences have great potential for academic achievement. However, with sensory differences, traditional classroom environment can make learning a challenge. Students with sensory differences need and benefit from sensory supports in the classroom.
We use our senses to learn and engage in our environment.
The sensory supports affords students the movement they need and activates their muscles via spinning or wobble chair, finger fitness power web; engages their sense of touch including taste via chewy necklaces, scented pencils and erasers, fidgets and thera-pressure brushing so their minds are better able to attend and engage in learning. The experiences that I obtain in the classroom in using these sensory supports enable me to also grow and learn about sensory differences in people and how best to support each person.
