Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students range from low income to high income households. I have three classes that include students new to the country that do not speak English, students with an IEP, and general education students. I also have two classes that are AP/IB or students that are advanced.

I aim for all of my students to have an "aha" moment each day and that is easier said than done.

Overall, I have students that thrive in my mathematics classroom along with students that do not have the background knowledge to be successful. I have students that are independent and others that require differentiation supports.

My Project

With the use of a Surface Pro, I will be able to walk around my classroom as I project guided notes on my board. The proximity to students will help with engaging students and hopefully improve good behavior. I will be able to color code my content which significantly enhances the presentation of mathematical ideas.

I really look forward to lessons specifically in Geometry, where I will be able to show transformations using different colors while I walk around the classroom and support students as they explore those ideas.

I'm sure I am barely touching the surface of how much of a positive impact this will be for my students.
