it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am an itinerant teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing in Texas and I also service students in surrounding districts. I want to be able to provide my students with a variety of playdough and playdough tools as a fun and effective way of teaching. Studies have also shown that playdough can be a great learning and play aid with children with disabilities.
By donating to this project you will be helping children develop their language skills in many ways.
This includes action words like "cutting", "pushing", and "rolling" when playing with playdough. They can use it to expand on their expressive vocabulary. They can describe their play while using language. For example, "I made a big ball." or I squished the red playdough. It can also help children develop early social skills like turn taking, sharing, and requesting.
Playdough play helps improve a child’s speech and language abilities as they learn new words about new concepts. I want my students to have access to playdough to help with language development.
