My students are smart, creative, kind, and happy. My students are in that unique stage between elementary and middle school. They are trying to figure out what direction their lives are headed in at the same time as finding their own voice in the large and loud world.
My favorite thing about our students is how strongly their compassion and desire to learn shine through every day.
We are a largely middle-class school, and our rigorous curriculum standards demand an unrelenting pace and focus from our students every day. We have high expectations, and, to their credit, our students rise to meet those expectations every day!
My Project
Bringing the plant tower into the classroom will be a wonderful opportunity. I have seen classrooms change when plants are present in the classroom. Students are able to feel calmer, and connect with the outdoors while having to be inside the classroom learning. Students are able to be actively engaged in the life cycle of plants and overall ecology of nature on a daily basis.
My students will noticeably be more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are able to learn in a positive and inviting environment.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement and personal growth of each student. Students will even be able to take the food directly home and eat them. In this tower there will be enough seedlings for each student to be personally involved with the growing process as well.
