My Project
My goal for this project is to give my students access to more sensory materials in my classroom. This is important to me because I am aware that sensory materials help children on the spectrum.
These materials can help the students focus and pay attention.
In addition to increased focus, these sensory materials can bring in stress relief and calmness into the classroom.
All of these items will make a huge difference in my classroom. The play dough for example, could have a few different uses. I would use it to teach a lesson on sculptures because it will be easier for these children to manipulate, and I would also use it as a fidget toy to help in focus during teaching.
