My Students
Every child in my classroom is unique and special in their way. The children arrive at school and enter my classroom with a morning greeting, a smile, and lots of energy! They very much enjoy being at school where they are surrounded by their friends and in the comfort of their classroom. My students are eager to learn and make discoveries. They are becoming independent learners. Seeing them take pride in their accomplishments and their classmates cheering for one another when a new skill is learned brings me joy. I believe they are capable of learning and capable of succeeding.
My pre-k students are the reason why I get up each school morning dedicated to teaching, loving, and giving them the best start of their education.
Before I became an early childhood teacher, I had no idea that I could fit so many kids in my heart.
My Project
My pre-k students are learning literacy. The Alphabet letter tubs, Match-A-Sound Phoenix Awareness set, Fairy Tales Problem Solving STEM kits and the story puppets will provide my students with hands-on literacy-rich experiences that will help me teach my students awareness of books and print, hearing and playing with letter sounds, the relationships between letters and sound, vocabulary development and story comprehension. Early Literacy Development is essential to a child’s language, reading and writing development.
COVID 19 has changed our sense of togetherness.
It's been a difficult year of transitions for my pre-k students. The children are experiencing the uncertainty of not knowing when they will be learning from home or learning from school. Young children thrive on consistency and predictable routines. My students have had to leave the comfort of learning with their friends in the classroom to adjust to learning and interact with their teachers and classmates on a computer screen. I feel like I have time with my students and their learning of important skills.
