This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a new year teacher, I'm learning so much about the classroom. My students are a small group of lively kids who need love and support. Every day, they do or say something to put a smile on my face. They remind me of the reasons I wanted to become a teacher in the first place.

Teaching is a work of heart.

Each student has individual needs such as materials that will support their learning styles. With encouragement and support, they accomplish amazing things. Student engagement is such an important part of the teaching process. Various classroom resources are also necessary to encourage student learning. Any item posted on this page is for the support of my student so that they can succeed.

My Project

Students need to be comfortable in order to learn. For some, that may be their own desk, for some, it may be the meeting area. In order to accommodate the students who choose to work on the rug, library, or hallway, I would like to make them more comfortable by having a desk to lean on while working. Additionally, these lap desks will give my students a chance to collaborate with each other as they are portable and able to be used in any space in the room. I look forward to the day I can introduce these to my class and increase their engagement and excitement for learning and working anywhere in the classroom!
