My Students
Every morning I am reminded of how fortunate I am to have such a rewarding job as I see their smiles and faces entering the classroom. I want to see the same look in their eyes when they have access to technology they don't have at home.
Many of my students come from high poverty homes.
Their only experience with technology comes from school. They are eager to learn and love coming to school. By the end of the year, I want my students to feel up to date with their technology experiences and enhance their learning through the use of technology.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting is an I Pad mini and case to help students gain greater understandings in skills being taught in the classroom and also for the use of research. I would use this I Pad in a small group setting and with students that have special needs. have a few students that have trouble writing and they would be able to use an app called Dragon Dictation to speak into the I Pad and it would dictate their sentences into writing. This would allow them to build their writing fluency and spelling. The i Pad would also allow students to build on skills in math and reading in a reading station. Students learn so much with interactive technology and the use of items they generally don't have access to at home.

It would allow students to experience technology in a fun educational way, provide assistance to students with learning disabilities, and to enhance learning in reading and math.
