My students need iDevices (2 iPods and an iPad) to develop their web browsing skills and utilize educational apps to build on math and language concepts.

My Students

Technology is changing daily, yet when I was a student it was not a word commonly spoken in our vocabulary. Students today are growing up with amazing technological advances and it is now expected to be a part of their daily education.

The students in my class this year are AMAZING!

They are bright, inquisitive, eager learners and they do a wonderful job of supporting one another within the classroom. I have 31 students of all kinds of backgrounds, including mainstreamed special education students. They come in every day excited for school, which creates a positive environment for learning.

My Project

It seems that every school in America is now faced with the challenge of keeping up with the advancements in technology, especially now that Common Core Standards are going to utilize online state testing. My students need 2 iPods and an iPad. These devices will serve so many purposes in our classroom. First of all, the students will be able to learn to navigate and browse the web without having to be sitting at a computer in our computer lab. Computer lab time is scarce on campus to they will also be able to take their Accelerated Reader quizzes to help them reach their individual reading comprehension goal. Educational apps are also an amazing tool in the classroom. My students will be able to play games that build on their knowledge of math, grammar, sentence structure, science, social studies, and geography, all on a daily basis.

By donating this project to our school, funds will be saved so that our PTA may put that money toward another good use on our campus.

Every year they raise so much money to help our technology on campus work as a successful, advancing environment. Our parent community would be so pleased to hear that our school received a donation toward their students' education that did not require them to open their own pocket book, which are all so tight as it is.
