Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students love to create! They are so proud of the beautiful work that they do in their Science, Writing and Math Journals.
We like to have fun while learning in our class.
My students are very hard workers. They get really excited when we are able to incorporate crafts into our work. I like to try and make our work engaging by incorporating fun and colorful games and crafts.
My Project
We are in a low income area and our school does not have the necessary tools to create things that many schools do have. This project would allow us to create several items throughout the year, from holiday crafts to beautiful science and math journals.
The equipment will allow us to cut out various shapes, letters and numbers. We will use these cut outs for our science, writing and math journals and activities. We will also use it to create crafts for the holidays.
It is important to have engaging lessons in the classroom to make learning fun.
This helps the students "own" the content instead of just "renting" it. When they enjoy what they are working on they are more likely to retain it.
