This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need a chance to explore art in the classroom and develop their creativity.

I teach in a public school in the same neighborhood I grew up in.

Most of the students in my school come from low-income families and face many challenges. The students in my transitional kindergarten are very eager and active children, full of energy that will benefit immensely from art experience in the classroom.

My Project

Creativity is a skill that students will need for future success. Creativity involves problem solving and that is exactly what my transitional kindergarteners will need when they grow up. My students will have the opportunity to use various materials to create their own collages. They will learn about art by creating their own works of art. My students need construction paper, an assortment of collage materials, art sponges, no-tip water cups and a drying rack.

With your support, my kindergarten students will experience art in our classroom, create collages, express themselves and gain valuable skills that will enable them to succeed in the future.
