Learning with AirPlay

Help me give my students a way to interact with the STEM lessons in class, with the help of the Apple TV and this iPad that will be connected to the Keynote application during class time.

My Project

The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in science. As we learned from STEM, as technology improves, so does our method of teaching. The iPad and the AppleTV will allow me to allow the student's to interact with the lesson by using these items as a digital whiteboard with Keynote. It will provide an easy activity for my students to show and share their understanding as I hand it to a student to write their work on the iPad and be projected on the screen with the AppleTV in the classroom and in the lab. What becomes a problem with the "old way" of sharing your ideas in class, is the fact that the markers never seem to last, erasers seem to disappear, and the whiteboards slowly become stained from frequent use. With this technology, every student can have the opportunity to share their responses, in real time, without distracting others, because I can simply bring the writing board to them. By having the iPad tablet and AppleTV, the class will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student participation, attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether the class materials are going to work or not. Plus, in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
