Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Transitional Kindergarten students are playful and enthusiastic about learning. They love hands-on experiences and interacting with each other. In returning to a pre-school learning classroom I am in need of classroom furniture and materials to create the dynamic learning environment for them to thrive.
I currently have chairs and desks, but I am in need of furniture and items for role playing and interacting such as the tables, trays, baskets, BBQ set, wagon play-set, etc.
that I have listed in my wish list.
We also need learning resources such as the ABC letters, magnetic alphabet, counting toys, puzzles and math games in order to drive that age-appropriate academics.
Things like color blocks, kinetic sand, Play-Doh, LEGO bricks, and wooden blocks provide opportunities to develop motor skills, visual-spatial orientation, problem solving strategies, critical thinking skills, and more.
I intend to use items like a calming corner, emotion and plush toys, and toy figures to teach Social Emotional Learning as well as appropriate communication skills to my little learners.
All of these items combined will enable me to create a safe, healthy, and exciting learning environment to our eager future scholars.
