My Students
When you enter our room, you will see a bright classroom with a huge banner that says, "Let learning take you around the world." Every day, I strive to help my students make connections to the world around them and learn by doing.
This year, I have twenty-four bright, motivated, and curious learners who come to school every day ready to learn. My students love our science and technology.
Our school excels academically because of our hard-working students, supportive parents, and dedicated teachers. We work hard to provide the necessary tools our students need to be successful.
My Project
In second grade, my students begin to work closely with non-fiction texts. One of our favorite social studies units is learning about famous Americans who have shaped our country. This year, I would love to expand my classroom library and provide a large selection of “Who Was” biography books.
These books will provide my students a greater choice when selecting a notable person to research and write about. My students use a variety of technologies and resources to complete an in-depth study about someone important or famous who has made a contribution to our world. Once their writing assignment is complete, students provide an oral presentation to share their knowledge with their classmates.
