My Students
My students are a group of very eager students who enjoy learning. We are a part of a Title I school, therefore many of them come from low income homes and environments. Many of them lack the skills necessary to be tolerant and accepting of others.
My students have great potential and need everything possible to help them become successful in their education.
They need to be able to use what they learn in class and take it home and into the real world.
My Project
My students are a group of eager fourth graders who love to learn. However, many of them are from low income homes that do not always provide them the tools and skills they need to be accepting and tolerant of others who are different. They will use the markers and easel pads to create anchor charts to post up in our room for display in our classroom to help make it their own. The glue sticks, pens, and scissors will allow them to make interactive notebooks that they can refer back to and share with their classmates.
Allowing my students to participate in the teaching and learning process will not only teach them to be accepting of others, but they will also feel more safe and comfortable in our class family.
My goal is to teach my students to be tolerant of each other through active engagement in the classroom. I want to create a classroom environment where students are constantly interacting and making the classroom ours. I know that they will take proud in our classroom and learn to be tolerant of each other as they see their own creations in the anchor charts and interactive notebooks on display in the room.
