My school has had such an influx of young children these past few years that we have six Kindergarten classes! What a great thing for us Early Childhood teachers! We love being able to start molding young minds at such an early age!
Our school is a very diverse, multi-cultural, multi-language school filled with children who are eager to learn, parents who are eager to help and teachers who are excited about teaching.
Our school population consists of 10% English Language Learners, 10% Individual Education Plan students and 53% of our students qualify for free lunch.
This year, I will be teaching in an Integrated Co-Teaching Class in a hybrid model of both in person and online learning. Due to these unprecedented times, and the budget cuts we are experiencing, I am in need of some special supplies for my integrated class. These supplies will be very helpful to my special education students and my general education students of varying socio economic levels, language abilities and ethnicities. Now more than ever, I need to help bring these kids together in learning and friendship while keeping them safe, healthy and happy.
My Project
I am requesting book bags, alphabet dough mats, tissue paper squares, soft seats, shapes activity and more. This year, I will be the in person teacher for my hybrid ICT class.
With these materials, I will be able to give my students the ability to be together learning their letters, shapes, math and more in the classroom while working individually.
Having their own materials, kits and supplies will enable the children to socially distance while engaging in the same activities.
Many of these items are easily cleaned and can be stored in between uses, therefore, keeping my students healthier. Also, several of these items may also be taken home to use on their remote learning days.
More than half of students from low‑income households
