Help me give my students a whiteboard to learn and a rug to learn on.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. S.'s classroom raised $413

My Students
My 25 students are inner city students who attend a public school where funding has been cut significantly. Their parents chose a public school because they do not have many options due to finances, which in turn does not provide the schools with a ton of support. Do you know what it's like to sit on a cold, hard, tiles or cement?
They are 5-6 years old children that are full of enthusiasm for school.
Do you know how it feels to sit criss-cross applesauce on a rock solid ground? My students are facing that very uncomfortable situation! They love to learn through hands-on activities and be very active. I always try to create my lessons to meet their needs. My school can't always provide the materials needed for these engaging lessons.
My Project
After these last 18 months our students and schools have been through war. We as teachers have found a way to teach with everything we are used to teaching with in the classroom from home. As a results many materials have been depleted and destroyed. My students need new white boards as all of ours have been given out to our students multiple times these last 18 months leaving us with none. Whiteboards are crucial to informal check-ins in Kindergarten. We practice writing our names and letters all day. During the transition back into the classroom in March 2021, many items were packed away or gotten rid of to not spread the virus.
Individual whiteboards and a rug are vital to a comfortable, caring classroom.
They love to cozy up with a stuffed animal to read to but they have nothing to cozy to sit on. My students are bright and eager to learn but come from economically disadvantaged households that do not provide them with a comfy, cozy environment where they can discover their love to read. I need to give that to them. Help me do so! Our classroom is on the medium size with no comfortable area for our class to closely gather as a whole. I'm requesting a bright colored carpet to place in our literacy center. Because many of our students come to kindergarten without any prior knowledge, it is essential to provide them a bright, rich classroom that gets their brains going. The carpet can help do just that! It will give them a sense of personal space as well as comfort to enjoy learning.
