My students are wonderful, caring individuals. I have several that have challenges in the classroom with behavior and focus, but that doesn't stop them from wanting to learn. Each day my students overcome situations at home that would make most people want to crawl back into bed.
They come to class online ready for a new day knowing that they are cared for, loved, and believed in by every adult in the school.
I want to share my love of learning with these children.
My Project
Part of our third grade math curriculum is learning to tell time with a traditional clock. Eureka Math teaches students to think of the clock as a round number line with five spaces in between each of the numbers. A round number line? You've got to be kidding! That is, until I discovered the number line clocks at a conference last year. They were absolutely amazing!
This Hand2Mind kit will help my students tangibly see how the numbers on a clock can be seen as a number line.
The demonstration clock will be used this year while we are virtual to teach students how to tell time. In future years, students will use the 24 student clocks to see the number line in a hands-on way.
