My Project
As children play with people and act out familiar scenarios, they are learning. They will work on developing their oral language skills with one another, sharing, taking turns, fine motor skills, and creativity. Additionally, students can play without the fear of being right or wrong.
Children coming from a low-income household are already “at risk” of struggling through the educational system.
I want to provide these students early on the opportunities to build skills which support their education in more than one way. One example of this is while role playing in the dollhouse. Students can ask their peers a question and expect an answer. Being able to ask and answer questions through play and everyday situations helps them build the skills to ask and answer the questions about books or other unfamiliar scenarios later in life.
Please help me provide my students the opportunity to play with a doll house as it is helping them build more than one skill which will benefit them through their education as well.
