My school is located in a small rural town.
My school is a great school to be a part of. The atmosphere is safe, fun and welcoming to all students. Students come in eager to learn and to succeed. I believe that all students have the capability of succeeding in school. I want to provide my students with the best possible learning experience that I can.
My Project
My students need hands-on reading activities to help them practice their reading skills. I envision my students using these resources during small group work stations. My students need books, computer games, and hands-on activities like phonics stamps and learning centers to help enhance their reading skills. My students will be able to play the computer games on either the computer or on the smart board to play with peers. It is important that my students be able to apply the reading skills they are learning when they are reading to themselves and on the computer. Many of my students think they can't read anything besides the books we read in class. I want my students to believe in themselves when they are reading on their own.
The hands-on activities, games, books, and computer programs will provide my student with many different types of reading materials.
I know the more my students practice reading different types of reading materials, the more their confidence in reading will improve. This will help them become fluent readers!
