Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager to learn and have fun doing it! We meet every morning in a huddle to talk about whatever comes to mind and look at what went well the day before and what we can do better today. It really is a time for us to bond and build a sense of community.

All of my students are on the "Breakfast in the Classroom" which is a free food program.

They also are on a free lunch program. For some of my students these are the only meals they will receive for the day.

My Project

The audio books will provide a chance for my lower readers to get independent practice reading along with the narrator. This is an effective and fun way for students to improve their reading skills. The books will be part of a learning center where the children can go during independent time or free time.

The clipboards will provide movement around the classroom and even outside while we are learning valuable lessons.

Students will have more independence when doing their work.

It will also assist in small group instruction with the teacher. Regularly I pull 4-5 students at a time to work on various reading needs.
