Learning to Read Can Be Fun

Help me give my students a variety of hands-on activities that will support their learning of letters, sounds, and literacy foundational skills. The Snap Build Phonics set makes spelling words and mastering phonics a snap!

My Project

The kindergarten and first graders that are at my Title I grade level school are very curious and eager to learn. They come from varied backgrounds but all are excited about school. I am the Literacy Specialist at my school and I am responsible for providing reading interventions to students who are struggling with learning to read.

I would like to get a variety of letter and phonics activities that could be used in small instructional groups with kindergarten and first grade students.

These literacy activities will provide a variety of fun and engaging ways for our most struggling students to practice and learn foundational reading skills. When learning is fun students are more willing to participate and take risks. Having fun while learning also helps students retain information better because the process is enjoyable and memorable. My goal is that these letter and phonics activities will help our most struggling readers become more confident and successful with learning to read.
