This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember the first time you read a book or wrote a word by yourself for the first time? For many of my students, they have yet to have that experience.

My school is a Title 1 public school which services grades PreK-5.

I teach English Language Learners in grades K-2 in New York. My students are very eager to learn new things. Unfortunately, at times they face difficulties in learning due to language. My goal is to provide them with the proper ESL services they need in order to become proficient in English.

My Project

I want my students to be able to independently look for a word they want to read or write on the interactive word wall. With the pocket chart stand, I will be able to have a word wall where the students can pull the word they need off the word wall, read and write it down in their notebooks and then put the word back when they are done. With the primary notebooks and jumbo pencils, my students can draw pictures and write the word that matches the picture. As they become more independent in writing, they will be able to write a story.

I want to make sure that my students can have all the resources they need to learn and succeed in school.

You will help my students become better readers and writers. Most importantly, you will help them improve their English language development.
