Learning to Read and Write in Comfort

Help me give my students an engaging, organized, and comfortable (they will love to read on the Softscapes Ottomans!) system to foster success with phonics and reading fluency instruction.

My Project

My 1st Grade students are constantly impressing me with their drive to learn and master every obstacle that crosses their path, and over the last two years, there have been many. They returned to school full time this school year with confidence and commitment!

My students are eager to find academic success and deserve to do so in a way that they find engaging and comfortable.

They strive to be independent in all ways and having a storage system for their phonics and fluency materials with bins and shelving would greatly improve their ability to move around the classroom without interruption.

We will store materials we use for mapping the sounds in words (Pop Its for tapping the number of sounds, magnet tile squares for writing the letters that form those sounds, etc) in the locking Iris bins for both small group and independent practice. Students could also take home phonics kis for extra skill practice and enrichment! They will also be able to put their phonics and fluency progress into action while remaining comfortable on various flexible seating optionsl
