This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are truly amazing. They work hard, play hard, and are full of life. My students are a joy to teach.

And my students are diverse: 90% are considered low-income, over 55% are English language learners, and almost 20% have special needs,

Continuing to learn how to teach and reach my students is imperative. My students deserve the best, and it is my goal to become the best!

My Project

Imagine that you are a student who has learning needs not being met. Imagine the lonliness, the frustration. Now, imagine you are the parent of this student, struggling to help your child, knowing that your child's teacher does not yet have the skills and abilities to reach your child. I work hard to reach and teach my students, and now I am asking for the wonderful Donors Choose community to improve my skills for my special needs students.

Your donation will make me a better teacher for ALL of my students.

At my school, almost 20% of students have learning needs that require teachers to have education and training in meeting unique needs. The course I am requesting will provide training about the IEP process, as well as learning and environmental accommodations and modifications that will help my students learn.
