My Students
For children, playtime can be a venue to create an understanding of the world and how people interact. My students need equipment to use during recess. This will help them work on social skills such as working together and sharing.
My 25, kindergarten students come from an urban neighborhood in a high poverty area.
They attend a K-8 public school. Despite certain disadvantages they come to school every day excited and ready to learn. They deserve time to be kids and play outside at recess.
My Project
It is proven that regular physical activity can increase concentration and focus, improve classroom attendance and behavior, and boost academic performance. That is why our recess time is a critical part of our day. We have a small concrete area that the students are allowed to play on during recess. My students need new playground equipment, such as balls, jump ropes, bean bags, and hula hoops to build coordination and motor skills.
This donation will assist students in getting active and moving.
This may be the only chance they have all day to be active. The equipment will help cut down on behavior issues during recess periods because they will have something to do. Let's get these kids outside, get some fresh air, and move and have fun while they are doing it.
