My Students
"I am the 5 grade science teacher at a high-need, charter school located in an urban setting. The mission of our school to be a a student-focused community where all students develop the intellectual, academic, and social skills needed to understand and take action on issues they encounter in life.
My young scientists are beginning to take ownership of their ability to be agents of change in their community.
At our school we work hard to empower our students to change the world in which they live now. In order to meet the mission of our school and the intrinsic passion demonstrated by our students I am trying to correlate their desire to change their world with scientific investigations, exploration and data.
My Project
Students will use these supplies to study fossil fuels, alternative energy sources, biomes, life cycle, food webs and the environment. This also includes professional development books to ensure I am using the best strategies to teach my young scientists.
