This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Being in 6th grade is a very fun time in a child's life. It's a time for them to start figuring out the different activities that they like, interests and start thinking about their future. Many of them are already thinking about college!

Sixth grade is also an area where students can be at many different reading levels.

It's important that students continue to grow in reading non-fiction and fictional texts so that they can continue their dream of wanting to go to college.

My Project

My students are excelling at reading and need more material! I have students ranging from 2nd grade to college level so I need to have a library that covers all grade levels.

This project will not only fund the different amount of reading levels that I have in my classroom, but it will also fund the need for different genres.

I have students that love fantasy, science fiction, mystery, historical fiction, and non-fiction.

I will also be able to continue doing reading groups and have students read with their peers are their reading levels. It's very important to get students to read, especially during this period of their life. They are learning through reading!
