My Students

We have a small room and tons of books but no way to display them!

My students all are identified as having significant disabilities, and the main focus of our class is learning independence.

There is nothing more important than being able to independently engage with text! They love our weekly trips to the city library, where students select their own books to read.

My Project

My students LOVE choosing books at the library and bringing them to their class. With our books on display, students will be able to make their own choices and read independently. We also have students who are lacking confidence in their reading abilities come in and read to our class. One of the most important ways for students to learn to read and to LOVE to read, is to have independent reading time and make choices about books.

My students love to read and deserve the chance to pick their own books.

We want our classroom to be as literature-rich an environment as possible, for my students and our visitors!
