My students need engaging and challenging reading activities to use during center time.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Dunlop's classroom raised $298

My Students
As a child I was always inquisitive and eager to learn. Many of the students I teach do not naturally feel this way. They need to be encouraged and made to feel successful and smart.
I teach 3rd grade in a low-income school where 100% of the students receive free lunch.
More than half of our students have moved to the United States within the past two years. They struggle with English language acquisition and often receive limited support from home.
My Project
I hope to engage my students in reading center activities by offering fun games which will teach them to work in groups as well as teach them necessary comprehension and vocabulary concepts. The games and activities I have chosen will be fun and exciting for the students to play. When they enjoy participating, they will be encouraged towards continued participation. In this way, I hope to offer my students an enjoyable way to practice necessary skills.
We engage in center activities every day during Guided Reading time.
I work very hard to choose interesting and diverse activities, but my students are not always enthusiastic about the educational activities they must complete to practice and strengthen literacy skills. These games should keep them coming back for more, which means more learning!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
