My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the methods and environments in which they learn best vary greatly.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners who are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
I want to give my students a school day they'll never forget! I want to transform my classroom into a glow party with all the works: glowsticks, glow decor, black lights, and more! My students need a fun and exciting way to review 3rd grade math and language arts standards as we prepare for Utah RISE testing. Third Grade is the first year we assess using the State Assessment.
A room transformation will help students become invested in their learning because it is such a fun and memorable way to practice skills!
For the room transformation, students will use their glow gear surrounded by back lights and delve into the world of adding subtracting, mutliplication, division, fractions, word problems, area and perimeter, students will practice many math skills as well as diving in tho the world of theme, main idea, character thoughts/traits, cause & effect, poetry, fiction and nonfiction text, and so much more all while getting their glow on.
Most importantly, we will create a positive learning environment for students to prepare for state testing.
