Learning to Code with LEGO Robotics!

My Students

I teach 210 amazing third, and fourth grade girls on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Many of my students are English language learners and children with special needs. Most qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. All of my students are creative, thoughtful, and eager learners, and much of their scientific knowledge this year will come from inquiry and research. It has been so exciting to see them fully engaged, each day, as they learn through collaboration and exploration with their peers.

My Project

I am starting a LEGO Robotics Club at our school this year. We are a Title I school and would use this donation to purchase a LEGO Robotics Kit which will help us to compete at local events and learn how to code. Our school has never had a LEGO Robotics Club, but our students have the technical skills and cooperation needed to embrace this challenge.

The addition of these instructional technology materials would be a tremendous boost to our STEM school and allow us to add a LEGO Robotics team and propel our students into the 21st Century.

This team would allow our students to learn to code and learn the importance of teamwork as we problem-solve to achieve our goals.
