it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students in my Special Education classroom have big feelings that they do not always know how to control or express. I would love to give them a safe calming corner with a comfortable bean bag and different fidget options for them to take a break from anything that may be triggering hard to control emotions. The timers will help them learn the concept of time but also set a limit to how long they remove themself from their peers. Will they need one minute or five to calm down? Books will also help them give a word/label to the emotions that they may be feeling while teaching them how to express them in new ways.
