My students need books, paper, crayons, sentence strips, dry erase boards and markers, a pencil sharpener, and reading and math materials for their workstations.
Get Set! Ready to Learn! This is the motto of my class. My students enjoy learning. They are motivated to learn and work with their peers completing various activities that meet the Common Core standards.
My students are enthusiastic and eager to learn.
They are motivated to gain knowledge and look forward to new challenges.
My class is full of energy. They have a love for learning which inspires me. They explore their world through hands-on experiences, a work to create learning opportunities that are sparked by my students' interest, questions, and building upon their prior knowledge. I would love to bring more materials into my classroom to enhance my curious learners.
In my class we spend time ensuring that students have the opportunity to teach each other. They have opportunities to share what they find by learning through one another.
My school is a K-8 public school in a low income community located on the south east of Chicago. The majority of the students receive free lunch.
My Project
The materials (books, paper, crayons, sentence strips, dry erase boards, etc.) will be used to enhance my learning workstations. I have several learning workstations in my room, such as a listening, writing, word work, reading area, and computer. I provide teacher created activities in each area for my students to reinforce any skills that were taught. Students engage in activities that build upon their writing, phonics, and reading skills. My students gain more knowledge and practice in these skills. These materials will prepare my students to be college ready.
My project will make a difference because my learning workstations were created to reinforce the skills that are taught through the Common Core standards.
My students are able to interact with their peers to complete various activities that will promote learning and high order thinking skills. This will help my students to achieve academically and socially.
