My Project
In Iowa, our winters can get cold, with long days spent indoors. These materials will help to beat the cold winter blues. While winter can be a drag, learning doesn't have to be. In science we will be making connections to seasons and learning new vocabulary and connections to arctic animals.
Students will love exploring with these new hands-on materials to better understand science and reading concepts.
We will be using rainbow penguins for counting, story problems, and understanding units of ten in relation to 100. We can also use them with reading instruction. We color code words for beginning (green), middle (yellow), and end (red) sounds. Different building sets will be used to create the arctic in their own interpretation.
