My Students

We are a blessed group of students. Our children are all between the ages of 3 and 4 years old. They have all been diagnosed with different disabilities. All of them have goals related to fine motor and social skills. They have trouble using their hands to grip items such as cars, small building blocks, and crayons. The majority of our students are autistic, downs, and are medically fragile; and they require a lot of different activities. Most of them live in low-income​ apartment households.

With our children having a large range of disabilities, hands-on learning is very important.

Many of our students are non-verbal and have limited mobility. They get really excited when they can work to accomplish a learning task. Since all of our students are working virtually we are in need of getting items to help them with different ways of reaching both math and alphabet goals. We are hoping to get our children some tablets that they can use very easily to play learning games on.

Our students with their parents have done a wonderful job of staying focused and working with what little they have to help reach their goals.

My Project

With our special needs student's learning being totally virtual, we are trying to find extra ways to help them at home. Many of their learning goals center around math skills and learning their alphabets. We are trying to get tablets for them to use while they are scheduled to have Asynchronous learning time. Our student's will be able to work on different games such as Starfall and ABC Mouse.

Our children will be able access a game and work on their specific goals centered around ELA and math skills.

They can practice their phonics to strength their phonemic awareness. They can work with counting items one to one to match the specific number.

Many of our student's are also medically fragile, they will remain with online learning when and if we return to face to face learning. With the tablets our children will be able to access learning in a fun and educational way.
