Learning Through Science Exploration

My Students

As a teacher in a special education self-contained classroom in a low-income school district, my students are faced with challenges inside and outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges that my students are facing, I am looking to provide them with a fun, interactive, and meaningful learning environment.

My students have a multitude of needs including physical, cognitive, medical, fine motor, sensory, and communication.

They love learning through a multitude of different means such as sensory activities. They learn best though creative and sensory activities.

My Project

These science materials will continue to help create a scientifically rich classroom for my students. The students enjoy learning through science exploration. By having a variety of science materials in my classroom, the students will be able to learn about multiple different subjects through learning about science. All of these materials were specially chosen so that they help meet the students’ needs in multiple different academic areas.

With these new science materials, my students will be able to chose from a variety of materials to allow them to expand their knowledge in multiple areas.

They will be able to choose what the science materials that they are interested in. These materials were specifically chosen to be at the students’ age level. The color science materials were chosen because most of the students in my classroom are working on learning their colors. The farm theme box was chosen because they are learning about animals and what sounds they make.
