My students need items that allow them to use their imagination. I'm requesting building materials, a doctor's kit, veterinarian set and finally, a set of puppets.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year I'm trying to bring back playtime for my 29 Kinder students and allow them to not only be kids again, but learn lessons from one another through active play. My students love exploring things and learn best when they interact with their peers. I've seen them grow so much thanks to play time.
I have 29 incredibly sweet kindergarten students who have big imaginations.
This year at our school we've decided to bring back play and to allow the students to be kids again. As we started playtime back up, I realized just how limited I was on supplies. I've seen such an improvement in my students not only academically, but socially. I don't want that to end due to limited supplies. My students have grown on levels I never expected them. I truly believe that playtime allows children to learn things that I could never teach them.
My Project
My kinder students will use the items during our playtime. I am requesting items such as building materials, puppets and a doctor's kit, that would allow the students to discover and use their imagination. Having these items will allow my students more opportunities to interact with one another while practicing their language skills. While students are having playtime, they will acquire skills such as sharing, working together, problem solving, math and language skills and so many other skills that they will use every single day inside and outside of school. It's important that students are given chances to work with one another and discover the world on through interactive play. It's so amazing to see my students open up in ways I never thought possible. It's all thanks to playtime being brought back into the classroom.
My kindergarten students are the most deserving students.
They are incredibly sweet and always think of others. I want to give something back to them that will not only help them grow academically, but socially as well. The school I work at is a high-poverty rate. Many of my students do not have items at home that will allow them discover and use their imagination. They do not have opportunities to work together outside of school. How great would it be if my students can learn and grow together.
