My Project
The major impact I see from COVID-19 is that the students entering my kindergarten class have not learned how to interact with other students. Many of my students lack the social-emotional skills that students entered school with pre-Covid. Many students are also behind academically. These materials requested will allow students to work together in different learning labs, creating and learning together as play and complete tasks.
The instruments will help students role-play in our dramatic play lab as we learn about music.
Students will cooperate together as they choose which instruments they will play and who will be the conductor. Dry-erase boards will enable them to practice writing skills. The theme-related puzzles will encourage students to work together and problem-solve to complete the puzzle. These puzzles will also help encourage rich theme-related conversations between students.
All these materials will be used in learning labs that encourage students to learn and work together enriching their social-emotional skills and academic learning.
