My Students
My students have made amazing progress this year, considering a lot of them have not been in a classroom setting before. Because we started from behind grade level, we have some gaps to fill. They have worked hard this year to learn their letters, sounds and blending.
We had to start with basic skills such as sharing, learning about friendship, being kind, standing in line, and learning how to follow directions.
Many have shown such kindness to each other. We have two students from Afghanistan and Brazil. Neither of them speak any English at all. Their other classmates have been so helpful and kind to them while they learn English. We have built such a nice class community, because they are all kind to each other.
My Project
Kindergarten students need to learn through play. The dramatic play accessories will help my students express creativity while learning. Our dramatic play center needs some help, and these toys and learning tools will be a great benefit to the students.
The students also learn through small group interventions.
The stools, cart and sets of letters will give my students the best opportunities to learn in small groups. They will be able to learn letters and sounds through manipulatives. When they use a variety of learning tools, they are more likely to retain the information.
