Learning Through Play

My Students

My students are inquisitive children who are ready for learning! Many of them have never been in a classroom before. Kindergarten is a year where they learn what school is all about. They grow socially and academically throughout the year. We build the foundation for their future.

Studies have shown that children learn best through play.

I would like to add to my dramatic play center, in order to give students more opportunities to learn through play. This will encourage students to build their oral language skills and also how to work with others.

My Project

When we think back to our childhood memories, many of us remember playing with our friends in Kindergarten. At this age, children learn best by playing. It is important that they learn how to work with one another and develop their oral language skills.

I would like to use a market set to create different dramatic play centers.

This market could be transformed from a grocery store to a flower shop, to a check out station of a restaurant, and so much more. Students can create signs to transform this center into a variety of settings where they can learn how to communicate, practice writing, and work together, while having fun!
