Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students can use the ice cream truck to pretend play and sell "paletas." Paletas are ice cream bars that are sold in the student's neighborhood. Paletas are a culturally relevant item and can be used to teach math and new vocabulary. The students will use addition, subtraction, and the use of currency and learn the value of money to pretend play. This dramatic play area will be a place for preschoolers to learn to share, engage in conversations while learning through play. Preschoolers can interact with their classmates as they enjoy playing with the ice cream stand.
