My Students
I am a speech-language pathologist who provides therapy to 3-5 year old students. We serve a dynamic community with broad diversity in cultures, religions, ethnic groups, races, and socioeconomic levels.
Our program prides itself on integrating therapy into our classrooms, so that students may continue to learn, grow, and communicate with their peers while benefiting from speech-language services.
Our speech and language groups bring students with similar communication goals together to work on speech and language skills. This helps students to realize that they are not alone when working on their communication skills. Our students enjoy learning through literacy and play!
My Project
Help me give my students farm toys to support pretend play and language development. My students enjoy learning through hands on play.
These toys will help my students to develop a variety of language skills, such as labeling animals, imitating animal sounds, answering questions, requesting, and understanding basic concepts.
The storage bins will help us to keep our toys neat and organized. Students take an active roll in cleaning and organizing in my classroom. This helps them to learn to follow directions, sort items by category, and become more independent.
