Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come to school eager to learn and excited to start the day. Much of the focus this year has been helping students transition from Distance Learning and/or limited group interactions to learning in a classroom environment with 29 students.
My Project
The supplies and games requested will be used to help students work in small groups. Games will be used to enrich student learning of basic math facts and sight words that are normally mastered prior to entering first grade. In addition to games purchased, I will be making many games for students to check out and practice at home. This will help families provide extra support to students who are struggling. Developing fluency in basic addition/subtraction and the first 150 sight words will improve first-grade math, reading, and writing.
