My Project
This year, I’m excited to bring board games into our reading and math instruction. These games will be used in small groups, centers, and for early finishers to make learning feel more like play.
Games like Guess Who?
support vocabulary, questioning skills, and critical thinking. The people and pets versions allow students to practice describing attributes and using logic to make inferences. Scrabble is perfect for building spelling, phonics, and word recognition skills during literacy time.
In math, Addition & Subtraction Bingo and What Time Is It? reinforce foundational skills through game-based learning. Tetra Tower and Perfection build fine motor skills and focus, which support writing and problem-solving. Operation adds in hand-eye coordination and attention to detail while keeping students engaged.
Candy Land, Sorry!, and Trouble are ideal for reinforcing number recognition, sequencing, and turn-taking while giving students practice with math strategies in a fun, low-stress setting. The Game of Life introduces real-world math concepts like money and decision-making.
Pirate Island: Reading for Details directly supports reading comprehension as students search for key information in text. Junior Learning’s Math & Language Games provide targeted academic support in both subjects.
These games will transform our classroom into a space where students are excited to learn, collaborate with peers, and strengthen essential academic skills in meaningful ways. Thank you for helping us bring joyful learning to life.
