Our school services children with special needs in a program in Queens, NY. We had created a sensory garden with our pre-K students before COVID. Students were able to help plant various fruits and vegetables. They enjoyed harvesting and tasting the fruits of their labor.
We are now recreating and improving the garden area and have requested two canopies to provide shade for our young students while they work in the garden beds using new tools.
Working in the garden has proven to be a very beneficial hands-on experience for our youngest learners.
Unfortunately, this year our school’s budget has been cut drastically. We don’t have the needed funds to provide these materials for our garden area.
Any support you can give to help us fund this learning experience for our young preschoolers is greatly appreciated.
