Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This is my second year as a bilingual teacher and I am beyond delighted to be able to teach a group of five to six-year-old students who from the first day of school have expressed their love and excitement for learning literature and art. This group of eighteen enthusiastic kindergarten students are ready to become the future generation of lifelong learners. My students come from diverse backgrounds. They are energetic and their smiles can brighten and warm your heart. Our classroom is welcoming and supportive. My students and I have created a classroom environment where we treat each other with mutual respect, love, and support.
Our classroom community is built with a solid foundation of acceptance and valuing each other’s needs.
My students are English language learners who are strong believers in their abilities to overcome any challenge. I instill in my students the importance of having a growth mindset. It is important that they trust in their own potential for continuous growth.
My Project
Embedding literacy and the expression of art develops a classroom of creativity. My group of kindergarten kiddos are part of a Title I school. The requested materials will promote an environment where my students will continue to develop the desire to continue to learn through literacy and art. My students enjoy a fun learning lesson when they are provided with the option to express their imagination through artistic projects.
Literacy and art, the seed to develop life-long learners of readers and artistic creators.
Providing them with resources to use at home and in school will permit my students to grow academically and blossom to become fluent readers in Spanish and English. To assist them with reading, I have included resources and materials that will allow my students to learn the foundation of reading. Incorporating art will promote my students to express themselves through the lens of creativity.
